I think I may have finally hit that point. The point where I'm no longer interested in playing World of Warcraft. I think the last time I played was almost two months ago and I've had absolutely no urge to play, even though my year subscription doesn't run out until sometime in April.
Hell, it's been just over 7 years since I first logged in on the Eitrigg server back in March 2006. No game even comes close to keeping me interested for that length of time, even with the small breaks I took during it.
I don't feel sad. Syrana hasn't played for almost 3 years now (or 41 years if you believe her entry in battle.net.) Though, I will miss playing with my in-laws since it was a nice way to chat with them.
I will always still remember my first character, who actually was Sideshow. My first non-Horde, Gertbee the Dwarf, whom I still play and is pictured above. My first 5-man dungeon run, Shadowfang Keep with some real-life friends. My first “real” guild, “Crimson Night”on Eitrigg. My first raid, which I think was Upper Blackrock Spire (UBRS) with said guild.
It will go down in history as one of the greatest games I've ever played. No MMORPG I've played has come close to it. It also does have the honor of being the first one I ever played, so it did raise the bar pretty high.
I'm not leaving for any specific reason, just mainly lack of time and too many other things I'd like to do with that time. I enjoyed my time in Mists of Pandaria and I think it was a decent expansion.  Odds are in favor of me popping on again at some point. I foresee the game surviving for many years to come in one shape or another.
The blog is still going to be active, in case you were wondering that. I still game a lot and I love you guys!
I leave you with this. A picture of a creepy bunny zombie. Happy Zombie Jesus Day from Sideshow!
I haven’t played in 3 years yet I still can’t bring myself to say “I’m done”
Just dropped in to say hello, and goodbye Sideshow! I stopped playing about 2 years ago myself, other than a brief visit to check out Pandaria. You guys were one of my favourite WoW-bloggy friends… and I shall follow your other blog as well, now that I see it there – as it is relevent to my interests (I’ve become a step-mom!) Remember BlizzCon? 🙂 Good times.
Best of luck to both of you and your children!
Thanks for the comment! I do remember BlizzCon. Those were fun times.
This blog will still be active, but I wanted to let people know not to expect much in terms of WoW content anymore, not that I’ve posted much about it in awhile.
