This site is about to come back to life. Since the inception of Sideshow & Syrana back in like 2007, many changes have happened to us. One big change is that we have added two new gamers to the team. Personally, I've always enjoyed Let's Play videos and watching other gaming-related videos on YouTube, sometimes even more than playing the game itself. Both of my children (now 6 and 4) also enjoy watching these same videos and they find a special enjoyment watching other kids on them.

Over the past few years, Syrana and I have wanted to do something related to gaming online again. We rarely get much of a chance to game together anymore except the too rare Rock Band jam. I do get enough opportunities to game with the kids since they're almost always available. This past month we decided to try our hands at a family gaming YouTube channel, so we launched “Stay-At-Home Gamers.” The name is a play on the whole stay-at-home parent thing (since we both currently telecommute.)

Currently, we have 4 videos up, with a fifth in the queue. Our 6-year old daughter chose the online handle of “Princess Boo” which I expect to not last forever. But, currently she loves it. She has two Let's Play videos for the Harvest Moon-like indie favorite, Stardew Valley. The other two videos are by me and one is just some car crashes using the vehicle simulator game, BeamNG.drive and the other one is some fun footage from the recent Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels expansion DLC (seen above.) We aim to keep the videos family-friendly, though the some games could possibly not be for your children, depending on the the level you set for them. As a parent, I know some games, while fun for me and my kids, may not really be for someone else's kids, and that's cool.

Give us some love over on the channel and videos. Subscribe, like, comment. We love the love.

Welcome

We are a family of gamers. Mom and Dad have been gaming for as long as they can remember back when you only had a joystick to use and saved your games to cassette tapes.

They've been gaming together since they met in 2002. Sometime after 2006, they both started playing World of Warcraft and did that for many years. They started this blog, originally called Sideshow & Syrana which has now transitioned to the new Stay-At-Home Gamers site, while keeping all of the original content.

Starting in 2010, two more gamers came along (now known as Princess Boo and Mr. X) and they are now old enough where they both enjoy playing games and watching others play games. They are both excited to have others to watch them play their favorite games. Come along with us and let's enjoy these games together!
