In this video, we are talking about seven new board game releases we are super excited about. Some are releasing in April 2019 and some were released in March 2019.

Since we're looking forward to these games, we thought you might like to know about them too!

1 – Zombie Kidz Evolution by Iello

Zombie Kidz Evolution is a cooperative legacy-style game for kids. Zombies are invading the school!

Work together to eliminate the zombies and lock all 4 entrances. Add a sticker for each game you win and keep track of achievements.

As you make progress, open secret envelopes that contain things to add to the game. This increases the challenge.

Brian and I played our first legacy game at the end of last year – Pandemic Legacy Season 1 – and we want to play more games like this.

Love that this will be a great way to introduce the kids to a new style of game!

2 – Bunny Kingdom in the Sky

Bunny Kingdom is one of our favorite games and we're thrilled there is an expansion coming out in April 2019.

Bunny Kingdom in the Sky adds a new game board to the world of Bunny Kingdom that allows you to link fiefs in the sky with those on land.

Aside from the game board, this expansion includes new cards, new types of resources, a set of playing pieces that allow five bunnies to play in the same game, and a larger type of building that increases your influence in that area by a factor of five.

3 – Villainous: Wicked to the Core

We absolutely LOVE the first Villainous game and couldn't wait for an expansion to come out. This one released in March of this year, but I had to wait a little bit before picking it up.

Yay for board game sales, am I right? We just bought it this week!

You can play the three new villains in Villainous: Wicked to the Core as a stand alone game, but they can also be mixed with the villains in the first Villainous board game.

4 – Tiny Towns by AEG

Tiny Towns is a game for 1-6 players and will be releasing around April 26, 2019.

In this board game, you are the mayor of a tiny town in the forest in which the smaller creatures of the woods have created a civilization hidden away from predators.

You’ll be gathering resources to build buildings and use them to build your town on a 4×4 grid.

Each building scores victory points (VPs) in a unique way and any squares without a building are worth -1 VP. The player with the most VP wins!

5 – Planet by Blue Orange Games

Planet the board game releases on April 22, 2019, which is Earth Day. Perfect day, don't you think?

In Planet, each player receives a planet core without anything on it. Each turn, players choose a tile with mountain/ice/forest/desert on it and place it on the planet.

Then the player who fulfills the most conditions for the appearance of certain animals gains its card.

Great opportunity for kids to play and learn about biomes!

6 – Honga by HABA

Honga is an action selection resource management game for 2-5 players, age 8+, set in the prehistoric period.

Players gather resources and use them to complete trade agreements, lure mammoths to the tribe herd, and pay homage to the old nature gods.

It helps kids learn how to strategize and prioritize using their actions each turn because Honga will come steal food from you if you don’t spend an action him!

This one seems perfect for our 8 year old, though our 6 year old would enjoy this one too with a little help playing.

7 – Oceans

Oceans is a standalone Evolution game by North Star Games and it is currently on Kickstarter. We are backing this one and excited that fullfillment should be around September 2019.

I play the Evolution Video Game a lot, which makes me want to get all the Evolution board games.

This one looks great as it takes the game under the sea.

Also, bring on the KRAKEN!

Welcome

We are a family of gamers. Mom and Dad have been gaming for as long as they can remember back when you only had a joystick to use and saved your games to cassette tapes.

They've been gaming together since they met in 2002. Sometime after 2006, they both started playing World of Warcraft and did that for many years. They started this blog, originally called Sideshow & Syrana which has now transitioned to the new Stay-At-Home Gamers site, while keeping all of the original content.

Starting in 2010, two more gamers came along (now known as Princess Boo and Mr. X) and they are now old enough where they both enjoy playing games and watching others play games. They are both excited to have others to watch them play their favorite games. Come along with us and let's enjoy these games together!
