Alright, now that I'm all rested up from Monday night's concert, I can get back to bloggin'.  Of course, this particular post may seem a bit out of sequence as it is often that type of topic one uses in their first blog post.  I, however, like to march to a different beat sometimes.  So, I'm doing it now and I hope it, well, tells you something.

Why blog?

Heh, why not?  I touched on this a bit in my very first post on this here blog.   (Cleverly titled, “First!” I might add…)  Sideshow and I used to blog years ago about random daily college life type stuff.  I've always enjoyed writing and it is a great outlet for me.  So, here I am!  Even if there was no one here to read what I have to say, I'd still do it.  Thankfully, we have started to get some readers, which gives me positive reinforcement.   And with said reinforcement, will force me to post with some regularity so that no one gets (too) bored.

Pace

Now, what do I mean by regularity? I'm not quite certain of this just yet.  I will try not to overload you with multiple posts a day (or night).  I know that it's easier for me to keep up with my subscribed blogs when there's only one new one a day or every couple days.  But then again, I'm reading and subscribing to quite a few (but don't we all?!).

My initial goal will be to post at least 3 times a week.  I certainly hope to maintain daily fun and goodness, but I don't want to give out any false promises.  Plus, Sideshow has to have a chance to say something too.  (Even if I'm the more chatty one most of the time!)

Plans

As you've probably figured out by now, I love my Warlock and Sideshow loves his Rogue.  We hope to provide some fun and entertaining class related goodies, although we are by NO MEANS experts of our classes.  There are plenty of other class bloggers that know more than I and I will probably refer to them for your sake as needed.  But, aside from the class angles of WoW, I can also bring to you prespectives of an officer in a casual guild.  And not just any ol' officer (I like to stay busy in my virtual world)!  I'm also an Ambassador (recruitment), the Banker, and Social Event Planner Extraordinaire.   (Hence the importance I placed upon obtaining the Merrymaker title!)

I also hope to provide some helpful information, but mostly entertainment.  I seem to be relatively good at that.  Sideshow will certainly help in this area with fun RockBand videos, concert reviews and whatever else may suit our fancy.

I'd Like to Thank the Academy…

MC Syrana at the OI 2008 Summer Extravaganza Event

*clears throat* Ok, so no awards.  But I would like to put out a few thank yous.  As mentioned above, we've started to gain a little readership (yay!).  One of the first was my mother (love you, Mom!) and then, of course, my lovely guildies.  I must also thank Deekow for helping to inspire me to blog all things WoW (and some non, too).  I also want to thank Saresa and for giving us a shout out to their readers.  And thank you, fellow bloggers, for the blogroll adds! /warmfuzzy

Fan Feedback

Now that I've laid a few more things out there for you, I'd certainly love to hear from you.  (Yes, you.  Don't look away.  I know you were just reading.. I saw you!)  What do you like most so far? What would you like to see?  Any requests? (Free Bird! /ahem)

  • Thank you, thank you! *curtsy*

As for the armory/prof/achievement widgets, I found them in one of the resource sections at Blog Azeroth. I’m just glad it meshes nicely. And nice because the little updates (like breaking 400 alch -finally-) show up automatically without me having to focus everyone’s attention to it in my posts… leave that for the bigger milestones! 🙂

  • I have been having so much fun with you and Sideshow
while playing the game. Trying not to rush through the game, yet wanting to level up to get more power.

Side has done a great job setting up the blog.

    Love you! -Mom

  • @Kelinarra

You’ve been leveling pretty quickly, so you’ll have more power in no time! 😉

    @AJ

Glad you liked the reference. For some reason, I just always liked that song. lol But hey, it was better than a Bananas in Pajamas reference, right? 😛

  • I have to say, your layout is a lot better than mine. I know nothing about computers and rely on a friend to do my tech stuff. He made the site and all, but to get him to do anything I need to get a really sharp stick and poke him, he’s out of poking reach atm. My site currently langishes as half nice half not. Was this made on wordpress? I’m on blog azeroth, will have to have a look at getting some widgets.

I like the writting, I’m not a numbers person I like stories and funny happenings

  • @Wise Fox

Thankfully, Sideshow is the techie one and found this great skin for our layout. (Sometimes I need a sharp stick for him too, but he’s easier to reach! :P) And yeppers on the WordPress.

And I like your writing too, waiting for the next article! 🙂

  • I update about once a week, I only get an hour on wow most days, so one article a week is all I manage, but I try and stay consistant. My partner and I run two other blogs that are in the links category of antics in azeroth, but they are rl blogs. Ive been slack with them of late, I think shes keeping up to date with them. Then there is a manuscript im writting that I want to get published, I run some roleplay games online and hopefully in rl again soon, and I work full time…

Welcome

We are a family of gamers. Mom and Dad have been gaming for as long as they can remember back when you only had a joystick to use and saved your games to cassette tapes.

They've been gaming together since they met in 2002. Sometime after 2006, they both started playing World of Warcraft and did that for many years. They started this blog, originally called Sideshow & Syrana which has now transitioned to the new Stay-At-Home Gamers site, while keeping all of the original content.

Starting in 2010, two more gamers came along (now known as Princess Boo and Mr. X) and they are now old enough where they both enjoy playing games and watching others play games. They are both excited to have others to watch them play their favorite games. Come along with us and let's enjoy these games together!
