This is a call out to all of you with humorous links, stories, etc to share.  I'm going through a bit of an emotional rollercoaster due to a firing that occurred where I work, and I'd appreciate if you all could send something my way (via comments or contact form) to give me a Friday Funny.

  • I’m sorry to hear about the firing 🙁

I was reading through old By Way of Booty Bay comics and if you could, I would say read through all the archives, but this one in particular always makes me laugh (out loud – literally) every time I read it.

The other two things that I read today are comics posted on the WoW official site: comic one and comic two. Hell, give all of those a read two. Can’t hurt, right?

There are also these two posts from Forbearance: Metal Gear Solid: Ironforge and The Art of DPS: Part 1.

    Hm… ignore if you don’t like lolcats: 1, 2, 3

And to round this list off with another funny post, Ulduar Tanking Crits You For… from Tanking for Dummies.

Apologies if you’ve read any of those already. But I think they’re worth two reads, even if you’ve read them once :>

    /hugs

  • Once upon a time back in the BC days, a group of raid-noobs were attempting Karazhan for the third time. After a couple of tries Attumen died, spilling his purples all over the floor.
The new-to-Kara dwarf holy priest spotted a blacksmith repair person in the next area. He made a beeline over there as fast as his little legs could carry him, oblivious to the rest of the raid calling out to him “Don’t go there! There’s mobs in there!” He made it a short distance before his little dwarf form was swamped by mobs and he rose up through the mob as a pretty Spirit Healer.
He then promptly clicked “Use Soulstone”, completely forgetting that it would rez him in the same spot. He lived for a mere nano-second before blossoming yet again into a blue angel-flower.
It was quite some time before he got a rez since the rest of the raid were paralyzed with laughter. And no matter what character he plays, he will never be allowed to forget his double suicide back in Kara.

I’m not sure if it is at all funny if you weren’t there – but it was worth a try, right?

Hope you have a cheerfuller weekend!

  • So I was PvP’ing last night and watching the EoE strat movie on YouTube and thought I was cool enough to like… do both at the same time.

Part of me thinks it’s humorous that I looked away to watch for maybe 2 seconds and look back to see a corpse run in my immediate future. The other part of me made it my job to hunt that damn Paladin down for the rest of the BG.

That’s sort of funny, right? Sort of like taking humor in other’s misfortunes… which is quite warlocky I might add.

  • I’m sorry to hear about the firing at work. 🙁 This is just not a good week for those kinds of things!

I found this post by Tarsus of Tanking for Dummies absolutely hilarious.

  • Sorry to hear about the firing at work. Hope this story makes you laugh. I was questing with a friend and he is a hunter. We were in the burning steppes area and had to use the elevator to go down to fight some little dudes. Well, he jumped off and I didn’t, I rode the elevator back up and noticed his pet dino also stayed on the elevator. I laughed so hard at his pet staying on the elevator with me. Needless to say he came back to claim his body and I was riding the elevator up and down waiting….at the top he stood there and said let’s go try something else. I laughed again and said…you need to get your body first! We had a laugh and continued questing.

  • I have too many “tabbing out to look up something and flying over wintergrasp only to get dismounted and killed upon landing” stories.

I’m also horrible with thinking I took a FP, opening peggle.. playing for 10 minutes or so wondering why in the hell I haven’t landed yet only to discover I’ve been flying straight the entire time and I’m nowhere near my destination.

Now you can laugh at my expense.. you know.. like you don’t do that already =P

  • Thank you so much everyone, I really appreciate it. 🙂

I’m trying to fall back into my normal routine, so please forgive the late comment response from me.

Welcome

We are a family of gamers. Mom and Dad have been gaming for as long as they can remember back when you only had a joystick to use and saved your games to cassette tapes.

They've been gaming together since they met in 2002. Sometime after 2006, they both started playing World of Warcraft and did that for many years. They started this blog, originally called Sideshow & Syrana which has now transitioned to the new Stay-At-Home Gamers site, while keeping all of the original content.

Starting in 2010, two more gamers came along (now known as Princess Boo and Mr. X) and they are now old enough where they both enjoy playing games and watching others play games. They are both excited to have others to watch them play their favorite games. Come along with us and let's enjoy these games together!
