We have been doing more and more live streaming over on our Twitch channel. It's definitely a new experience for us. We have a beginning schedule up and posted and we are doing a good job sticking to it. So, you can always find someone streaming on Monday and Wednesday nights and usually most weekends. Currently on Mondays at about 9PM CT, it's usually me, Sideshow/Brian. Wednesdays it's family night, so we're usually streaming with the kids at about 6/6:30PM CT. And on weekends it could really be whenever at this point and the same with other weeknights. Sometimes we will just pop on and stream. Follow us and turn on notifications to know when we're online. We are also planning on adding a Friday night stream for Syrana/Darcy and I where we'll play co-op games, classic games, trivia games, etc. Last week we played The 7th Guest.

Personally, coming from me, even doing YouTube videos with commentary was a big leap for me. I'm naturally quite introverted to the point that I usually lean towards single player games as even playing with other anonymous people sometimes makes me uncomfortable. Once I started doing the YouTube videos, it became much easier. As they say, just do it. Live streaming was another beast as not only was I doing commentary during my video, people could watch it live! Granted, we don't do many web cam streams, yet, as we don't have the best lighting setup. Though, we have done a few and those were tough at first, too. Now I'm doing all of it and I'm much more comfortable.

Twitch Community

I do have to give thanks to other Twitch streamers that I've been watching over the past few months to help me figure out that just being yourself is all you need to do. Sometimes you get this idea in your head that everything has to be perfect all of the time. It doesn't. People should be watching your stream for you and your personality.

Also, we are starting to get into raising money to heal kids through the Extra Life charity. They are closely tied with the gaming community and they do amazing things. Last week, we raised $30 from our viewers, which we matched (including $3 for having to look up puzzle hints) to raise a total of about $63!

So, we'd love a follow from you and to see you in some of our streams. We're looking forward to building a thriving, positive community!

We'd also like to thank these other streamers for the help and the positive reinforcement in our new streaming venture: TheMommyGamers, RufiOOHHH and Grizzly_Ben. You've showed us how awesome a Twitch community can be!

Welcome

We are a family of gamers. Mom and Dad have been gaming for as long as they can remember back when you only had a joystick to use and saved your games to cassette tapes.

They've been gaming together since they met in 2002. Sometime after 2006, they both started playing World of Warcraft and did that for many years. They started this blog, originally called Sideshow & Syrana which has now transitioned to the new Stay-At-Home Gamers site, while keeping all of the original content.

Starting in 2010, two more gamers came along (now known as Princess Boo and Mr. X) and they are now old enough where they both enjoy playing games and watching others play games. They are both excited to have others to watch them play their favorite games. Come along with us and let's enjoy these games together!
